Plain Local Schools Foundation sets campaign goal of $50,000
The Plain Local Schools Foundation (PLSF), established in 1989, is holding its first ever fall campaign, with a goal of $50,000. The PLSF was established to provide funds for educational opportunities to the district that were being cut due to state cuts in the budget.
Over the past 26 years, the Plain Local Schools Foundation has donated more than $1.1 million to the Plain Local School District. Money raised in the past has contributed to the additional 300 seats in the high school theatre, new piano and shell for the stage; $40,000 towards Oakwood starting their STEM program; and $110,000 over the past eight years to teachers to complete amazing projects with students. The foundation awards 12 yearly scholarships and has an endowment of $550,000.
