Bill valued the diversity and opportunities that public education offered his children, and now grandchildren. Because of those opportunities and life lessons that his children experienced it was the desire of the family to support the Plain Local School District in the spirit that captured everything that Bill valued about Plain Local and public education.

Tydin was a 2005 graduate of GlenOak where she embraced the many challenges she faced. Beginning with her life as an orphan in Vietnam, then moving half-way around the world, learning a new language and culture, Tydin developed a positive attitude toward everything she encountered. With the help of her family, friends, teachers and coaches, Ty became a persevering kid full of hope and happiness. She always had a smile on her face and was genuinely kind to everyone she met.
At GlenOak High School, Ty played the trumpet in the band, sang in the choir and was a two-time state qualifier in cross country.
